What Is An Immigration Bond?

An Immigration bond is money paid in order to secure release for a detained non-citizen, acting as bail. Immigration bonds are set by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement). This bond ensures that the detainee reports to all immigration hearings. If the detainee fails to do so then the bond is lost and the individual can be subject to further charges filed.

Role Of The Bondsman

Bondsmen work with detainees family, or friends to post the immigration bond. They assist in lowering the overall cost of securing an immigration bond and act as an intermediary for the family and for ICE. If the individuals proceed to post an immigration bond without a bondsman they will incur much higher costs overall
